Questions and answers
What is a Texas foreclosure list?
A Texas foreclosure list is a compilation of notices of trustee sale and tax-sale notices filed in Texas counties, showing which properties are scheduled for auction and when. AuctionEmber builds its list weekly from public county records.
When are foreclosure auctions held in Texas?
On the first Tuesday of each month between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. (Texas Property Code §51.002). If the first Tuesday is January 1 or July 4, the sale is held on the first Wednesday instead.
Where are Texas foreclosure auctions held?
At the county courthouse, in the area designated by the county Commissioners Court. If no area is designated, the notice of sale names the location.
How far in advance are Texas foreclosure sales posted?
At least 21 days before the sale the notice must be posted at the courthouse door, filed with the county clerk and mailed to the debtor.
Is there a redemption period after a Texas foreclosure?
For ordinary deed-of-trust foreclosures there is generally no post-sale right of redemption. Tax sales are different: two years for a residence homestead or agricultural-use land and 180 days for other property (Texas Tax Code §34.21). HOA foreclosures have their own redemption rules.
What is a sheriff sale in Texas?
A sheriff sale is a public auction of property under a court order, most often for delinquent property taxes. A sheriff or constable conducts it, usually on the first Tuesday of the month at the courthouse.
Does AuctionEmber show property addresses?
The free county pages show counts, sale dates and top cities only. Members see each property with address, sale date, listed bid or amount owed, appraisal value, a deal score and a map.
