About Virginia foreclosure auctions
Most Virginia foreclosures are non-judicial trustee sales under a deed of trust, advertised in a local newspaper and held at public auction, usually at the circuit courthouse. There is no redemption period after a trustee sale. Delinquent-tax sales are court-ordered and run by a special commissioner, and the circuit court confirms them.
Our Virginia data comes from trustee firms' published sale lists and published tax sale notices; more coming. New to auctions? Read the investor FAQ.
