About South Carolina foreclosure and tax sales

South Carolina foreclosures are judicial. After the court enters judgment, the county Master-in-Equity sells the property at public auction, usually on the first Monday of each month, after the notice of sale is published for three weeks (S.C. Code 15-39-680). If the lender demands a deficiency judgment, bidding stays open for 30 days.

County tax collectors hold a delinquent tax sale once a year, usually in October, November or December. The former owner can redeem a tax-sale property for 12 months (S.C. Code 12-51-90).

Our South Carolina data comes from official county sale lists and a plaintiff law firm's published list. It does not cover every county yet; more coming. New to auctions? Read the investor FAQ.
