About Pennsylvania sheriff sales

Pennsylvania mortgage foreclosures are judicial. After the court enters judgment and issues a writ of execution, the county sheriff posts the property, advertises the sale and sells it at public auction (Pa. R.C.P. 3129.1 to 3129.3). Municipal tax, water and sewer claims can also be enforced through sheriff sales.

County tax claim bureaus hold separate upset and judicial tax sales under the Real Estate Tax Sale Law; those are not in our data yet.

Our Pennsylvania data comes from county sheriffs' published sale lists. It does not cover every county yet; more coming. New to auctions? Read the investor FAQ.
